According to data from the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism (ICT) provided for this publication, 216,767 tourists arrived by boat to the national territory between May 2014 and April 2015. Of these, an estimated 187,720 passengers landed and visited various local destinations.
Public transport in Costa Rica is the most economical option to travel between destinations. Depending on the route, it is possible to take direct buses, these make few stops on the way and will save you time. Indirect buses are those that stop frequently to pick up passengers along the way.
